You Have The Right To Remain Silent
You have the right to remain silent is a reactive sound installation. On a metal cage, 55 horn loudspeakers are hung, projecting sound along trajectories traveling around the sphere. Radars and a video surveillance system detect presences, calculate the distance to individuals, and track their movements. Facial detection and motion tracking are used by the system to assess the intensity of its response to any intrusion.
The piece constructs an entire paranoid system; video feeds from social networks like YouTube, Instagram, and TikTok constantly feed the system, where an artificial intelligence named RAVE metamorphoses them. Trained on recordings of propaganda and nationalist anthems, as well as datasets of explosions, gunfire, screams, functional music developed by the company MUSAK, and remixes and top hits that accompany all social media video feeds, the artificial intelligence reconstructs the sounds and broadcasts them within the structure.
